Flight mechanic who joined the RAF in 1938. died on active service. Sadly an all too familiar tale over the years of ground crew taking their own life after heavy losses of the planes and crews they were looking after. David took his own life laying his head upon the railway track, Victoria Halt near RAF Aldergrove where he was stationed. He was just 20 years old.

The son of Walter and Mary Ellen Thorley. Siblings Walter who was also in the RAF and Luke. All three brothers were very close in age.
