William Donnelly

Grave C. R.C. 1443.
Parents Martin Donnelly born 1831 Ireland and Sarah Clarke born 1833 Galway Ireland. The couple married 1852 Macclesfield Cheshire.
Siblings of William Donnelly, all born in Macclesfield - John 1856, Mary 1858, Hannah 1863, Thomas 1865, Sarah 1868, James 1871, Elizabeth 1878.
I have been unable to locate information in the local journal regarding the death of William, however I retrieved his military records which contain the following :-
Attested in Edinburgh Scotland on the 7th September 1914, having previously served with the 19th Hussars, 22nd Cheshire Foot.
5 ft 8 inches height, 36 inch chest and of good development. Fresh complexion, blue eyes, dark brown hair.
Tattoos - Dagger on right forearm, Willow Tree and soldiers grave on left forearm.
Absent without leave from 8th September - 14th September 1915, a total of 5 days and 6 hours , having returned back to duty at 6 a.m. on 14th September.
William died in Aldershot on 1st January 1916 from an apparent rupture of a blood vessel.
The service records also made note of next of kin which appears to be J Wolstenholme of 24 Dean Lane, Newton Heath Manchester. The same address as William, the information was given at the time of attestment. I have not been able to confirm the identity of J Wolstenholme.
Later in his service records members of his immediate family and addresses are mentioned, J Wolstenholme is not mentioned. Sarah Donnelly, sister, address 143 Worsley Road, Swinton. Elizabeth Hope , sister, 4 Cheetham Road, Swinton. James Donnelly, brother, 40 Harrison Street, Lower Broughton.
Upon Williams death his body was returned to the family via train.
